Donate>>> Dear Alumni and Supporter Friends:Thank you for visiting the WHHS website. I was a student participant at WHHS from 1965 to 1968. In my senior year I was the Chief Engineer. Depending on your years of participation, WHHS broadcast on 89.3 or 107.9 and now at 99.9. What you don’t know is the terrible struggle that WHHS has had to stay on the FM broadcast band. When the station was founded no one wanted an FM channel and there were plenty of available frequencies. Even in my day very few people had FM in the car and only the audio aficionados had am FM receiver at home. Often an outdoor antenna was needed for these old vacuum tube sets. In the last year WHHS has been off the air as there were no available channels for WHHS to use. Thankfully two local stations agreed to allow WHHS to squeeze between them. This had never been done or allowed before and the highest levels of the government and the Federal Communications Commission were needed. On October 14, 2005 regular broadcasting resumed. Through the efforts of over a dozen people and organizations the miracle that was never supposed to happen; did happen. Right now I am asking for your help. Perhaps you could donate some time, money, energy, expertise or unneeded broadcast equipment. Whatever you have we need! Please call me personally.
